The first Dueling Knives throw down dropped in April, with chef Brent Beavers (Aspen Pointe) beating chef Supansa Baker (2South Food + Wine Bar) in a cook-off at  The Warehouse.

The Food Report was on hand to judge and posted this write-up with photos of oysters, kangaroo and ostrich.  Main ingredients are unknown to competitors , with winners declared by a panel of local journalists and chefs like Warehouse’s James Africano.

It’s a dope event, with radio-station emcees and hyped up food folk drinking and witnessing the culinary prowess — and the next one is tomorrow night.

“Dueling Knives, Episode 2: Battle the Broadmoor,” as the presenting American Culinary Federation Pikes Peak Chapter puts it in an email, starts tomorrow at 8 p.m. and RMFR will once again be on-hand to judge the results. The Blue Star will host Beavers defending his title against Zach Ladwig, chef de cuisine at the Broadmoor’s über prestigious Penrose Room.

“They will use foods donated by Sysco and the event will be emceed by Cliff Cage of Magic 98.9FM,” says the ACF. “Public is welcome to attend.”

10/10: Would do.
