Though there a few construction snags holding things up, early October should bring the opening of Coffee Quest in Manitou Springs, co-owner James Ellzey tells the Report.

“We are focusing on ALL THINGS GEEKY!” Ellzey writes in an email. “Board games, card games, tabletop RPGs, you name it!

“We have a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu along with coffees, Italian sodas, and root beers. We will eventually have beer and wine as well.”

Ellzey is running the venture with fellow Colorado native Lynsey Pearson, according to a recent Pikes Peak Bulletin piece,  and plans to have TVs and projectors for science fiction movies or shows like Doctor Who.

“In addition, custom-made gaming tables will be set up upstairs,” Alissa Smith writes in the Bulletin, “and the cafe will have board games of all sorts available for those who do not play D&D or other traditional tabletop games.”

Recent posts to Coffee Quest’s Facebook page include a lightsaber duel — natch — and a picture of a barrel full of helmets, swords and other medieval-knight gear. Additionally, cosplayers will receive their own discount.
