Local franchisees Lucas and Allyson Farnham opened a second Black Bear Diner yesterday, this one on Garden of the Gods Road to join the longtime location on North Academy Boulevard. It’s all part of an expansion strategy that has the Redding, Calif.-based company looking to operate 100 units by 2018, the company says in a press release.

“We’re truly humbled by the growth,” says company co-founder Bruce Dean. “But more importantly, we’re humbled by the excitement and buzz we receive when we announce new stores. As we expand, it’s our job to sustain that level of excitement by delivering the comfort food classics, personal service and homey atmosphere that have become synonymous with Black Bear Diner.”

The menu features pretty standard diner fare that scores four stars on Yelp. Here’s a taste:
