Though Old Chicago has traded some of its tattered glory for corporate gloss, the restaurant chain — a gritty bastion of local brews, the World Beer Tour and pizza founded in Boulder, before it was acquired in 2010 by Centerbridge Capital Partners and folded with Rock Bottom and Gordon Biersch Brewery into the new company CraftWorks — is still pretty popular with locals.
Towards that end, a fifth Old C’s is opening on Dec. 22 in Colorado Springs, near Tinseltown at 1579 E. Cheyenne Mountain Blvd.
“Colorado residents go crazy for Old Chicago, so we’re really excited to add another location into the mix in Colorado Springs so everyone can enjoy our freshly hand-made pizza, diverse menu of world-class craft beers and quality, handcrafted taproom classics,” says general manager Allison Raitz in a press release. “Our commitment to community extends beyond the dining room as we join forces with Big Brother Big Sisters to raise funds for deserving children in our area.”
That last references a deal where the chain will donate a dollar from every Chicago 7 pizza ordered between Dec. 22 and Jan. 1, as well as proceeds from preview events on Dec. 19 and 20, to BBBS.
