It’s a told story to say that, between chef and owner Brother Luck and executive chef Mark Henry, west-side restaurant Brother Luck Street Eats continues to put Colorado Springs on the map. (And with a rumored move to downtown on the way, it won’t be “west side” for long.)
Last week, the story continued when Luck went on Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay to take on the famed chef in a porky showdown. The theme: Fourth of July, baby. (Happiness to you and yours.)
Needless to say, Luck killed it, first beating the challenger with his tangerine-habanero wings, then cooking perfect pulled pork in 45 minutes and dropping Flay in his own house.
“I came here to showcase that I can hang with an Iron Chef, and I just did,” Luck said after his victory. “I can’t even begin to talk about how proud I am of myself. I’ve come a long way.”
