When not throwing community parties like its recentĀ hop-picking potluck, Fossil Brewing Co. is kickingĀ out interesting new releases. Its Mint Strata is a milk stout aged on fresh mint leaves, while a new German Doppelbock features toasted mustard seed and horseradish.
It’s for the latter that the brewery is throwing a release party this Saturday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m. after collaborating with Bill and Sally Layton. The pair are as well-known for their tricked-outĀ Bite Me Gourmet Sausage truck as they are for their work during the Waldo and Black Forest fires. Fossil calls the resulting combination “a unique and savory beer.”
“Those that regularly follow us know that local collaboration, community enrichment, and unique ingredients are three things that are deeply embedded in our company ideals,” reads the brewery’s event page. “This small batch collaboration incorporates all three!”
Only half pints will be poured, and a portion of sales benefitsĀ Kids on Bikes.
