Restaurant reviews from the Gazette and Indy are out, the latter coincidentally written by me, my last review for the weekly paper.
Gazette critic Robin Intemann took a look at the Ritz Grill, which she sums up with: “Nothing was wrong, but neither did anything make me say, ‘I can’t wait to return.'” Some highlights:
• ” … it took a while to be acknowledged. … Once seated, though, we had our server’s full attention.”
• “The menu is heavy on sandwiches and burgers.”
• “The friendly staff helps make the dining experience enjoyable even if the food lags behind.”
I wrote about the expansion of Cleats Bar & Grill, a Rockrimmon staple that recently opened a second location on Powers Boulevard. Some highlights:
• “The new Cleats has over 30 televisions, including two technologically rich, 140-inch high-definition projector screens …”
• “Cleats already makes its own tomato sauce, as well as its ranch, salsa and queso, among other items.”
• “Find a good list of some 25 bottles and 20 taps … There certainly seems to be a higher level of bar food available, though there’s enough generic filler remaining …”
