Summit, the Broadmoor’s cross-street bistro, enjoys a funny place in Colorado Springs’ dining scene.

Those that go know they’ll find top-tier wines, cocktails and cuisine for a little less than you would pay at a restaurant like The Blue Star.

But I run into a surprising amount of people who think the restaurant’s hard to get to, or impossibly priced, or snooty or inaccessible.  To the first point, you can park in the neighborhood, park in the next-door garage or enjoy free valet. To the rest, Summit is stocked with people looking to make your life easy. Plus, it’s beautifully designed by Adam D. Tihany of Per Se fame, who also designed the Broadmoor’s Ristorante del Lago.

In short, Summit is one of my favorite restaurants, and now it’s celebrating its 10th anniversary.

To honor the occasion, the restaurant offers the ‘Decade of Summit’ tasting menu, featuring Summit’s most popular dishes over the past 10 years,” reads a press release, “including the signature Maine Lobster Mac and Cheese Roasted Mushrooms, Colorado Goat Cheese; Potato Crusted Swordfish with Creamy Leeks and Port Wine Reduction; and Beef Tenderloin Au Poive with Boulangére Potatoes.

“Further, for the month of January, guests enjoy the return of Summit Social Hour in the restaurant’s lounge with specially priced wines, cocktails, and small plates.”

The five-course tasting menu is $75 or $125 with wine pairings, while the Summit Social Hour offers select cocktails for $7 and wines for $5, with various small plates running from $8 to $15. Here’s that menu:
