Yesterday, we received a flyer announcing the two-day grand opening of Bar-K, a new cocktail effort at 124 E. Costilla St. The party starts at 4 p.m. Thus far into its history, Bar-K has offered things like $2 Tecate, $4 Jameson and shots of Fireball, but the grand opening promises drinks like a Cold Spell Mint Whiskey.
Talking to the Indy in August, George Fields, who co-owns the bar with Ken Binning and Karen Hrncir, said this has been his dream for a long time.
“Together, ‘we’re looking at doing a higher-end bar,’ says Fields, with hand-squeezed fresh juices, Colorado craft spirits, and seasonal items like a Rocky Ford cantaloupe martini,” writes the newspaper.
With no kitchen on-site, expect regular visits from local food trucks like Mira Sol and Rocky Mountain BBQ.
