Parry’s Pizzeria & Bar joins 10 breweries and local businesses for the House That Beer Built, a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley to support affordable ownership in the community. A kick-off party celebrates the construction of the program’s second home on Thursday, August 16, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Parry’s Longmont location at 1232 South Hover Road. Silent auction items, t-shirt sales and proceeds from select beers at the event will be donated to help St. Vrain Habitat build a home for a family in need.
“Parry’s is a Colorado-based family business that is passionately dedicated to improving the communities we serve,” says Jon Hook, CEO of Parry’s Pizzeria & Bar. “We give back to these communities with a variety of events throughout the year and the House That Beer Built is one of our favorite causes to support. As a restaurant with a focus on craft beer, we couldn’t be more thrilled to join the outstanding roster of breweries and businesses supporting this effort to build a home for a family in need in our Longmont community.”
This year the St. Vrain Valley affiliate plans to build a home in partnership with the Robles family through the House That Beer Built program. Alejandra Robles is a mother to a full-time college student and a three year old who requires in-home therapy so becoming a Habitat homeowner offers a newfound stability for her family’s future.
“Breweries in the first House that Beer Built collectively raised over $50,000 and contributed more than 500 volunteer hours making the project a success,” says David Emerson, executive director for Habitat for Human of the St. Vrain Valley. “The craft brewing industry is a tremendous supporter of our community and we are excited to be working with them again on the House That Beer Built.”
