At RMFR our focus is to share the most pertinent food and beverage news in the Rocky Mountain region that promotes the quality, creativity and progression of our local craft industries. Yet as we shift into “the most wonderful time of the year,” we also reflect on the availability and distribution of food to families in need and how we can help those less fortunate enjoy satisfying and warm meals this holiday season.
As of Tuesday, November 13, through Monday, December 31, Wells Fargo plans to match up to $1 million in donations made to Feeding America through the Wells Fargo Holiday Food Bank Campaign. Additionally, they pledge a total donation commitment of $4 million from the Wells Fargo Foundation which provides 40 million meals to the Feeding America network.
Feeding America suggests the concept of #givewhatyoucan which resonates since just $1.00 provides a minimum of 10 guaranteed meals on behalf of local member food banks. Through this program RMFR is able to contribute $50.00, plus $50.00 Wells Fargo graciously matches to our Care & Share Food Bank in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Wells Fargo is currently collecting non-perishable food (find a full list here) at branches and food bank pop-ups, accepting donations at all ATMs or you can click here to donate online.
